The Networking Group (2012) Limited (“TNG”, “we”, “us”) protects your personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This policy covers member profiles on tng.org.nz.
What we collect
When you create a member profile, we collect what you provide through the profile form: name, business, profession, group, region, bio, services, website and social links, photos, email address and phone number, plus your display choices. Every submission is timestamped as a record of your consent.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
create and maintain your member profile;
display information you have agreed may appear publicly;
administer your membership and respond to requests relating to your profile;
facilitate networking opportunities within the TNG community; and
improve and operate the member directory and associated website services.
We will not use your profile information, photographs, biography, or other profile content for advertising, marketing campaigns, promotional activities unrelated to your membership profile, or commercial purposes outside the operation and promotion of TNG membership services unless you have separately agreed to that use or we are required by law to do so.
What appears on the website
Always shown on your profile: your name, business, profession, group, region, bio, services, photos, and any links you provide.
Your email and phone: shown only if you tick the display boxes on the form. Your choice, recorded with your submission.
How displayed contact details are protected
Contact details are not stored inside the website’s pages, so automated tools reading the site cannot collect them in bulk. They’re held in a separate secure service that provides one member’s details at a time when a visitor requests them, and that limits and blocks automated access. No system makes public information impossible to copy, but this removes the easy bulk harvesting that ordinary websites allow.
Where your information is stored
Profile submissions are collected through Tally (stored in the European Union), held in Google Workspace, published through Framer (our website platform), and contact details are served through Cloudflare’s secure network. Some information is therefore stored on secure servers outside New Zealand with providers that maintain their own privacy safeguards. TNG takes reasonable steps to ensure overseas service providers maintain protections comparable to those required under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Your rights
Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Ask us to correct anything wrong or out of date.
Change your contact display choices at any time.
Ask us to remove your profile at any time. We aim to action removals within five working days.
Withdraw consent for LinkedIn and Member of the Week features without affecting the rest of your profile.
How long we keep it
We keep profile information while you are a TNG member. When your membership ends, or when you ask, your profile is removed from the website and your details are deleted from our records within a reasonable period.
